A new publication inviting readers to discover a contemporary author and rediscover, through poetry, the importance of listening and human dignity.

The Studi di Cologno Association announces the release of “Voce e Luce” (“Voice and Light”), a collection of poems by Giuseppe Barbaro, whose name appears on the cover as Pino Barbaro. The association oversaw the book’s editing and production, helping bring the author’s work to readers.

Through this publication, Studi di Cologno seeks to introduce both the person and the poet: an author to be discovered through his sensitivity, his writing, and his attention to the human experience. This is the spirit in which the association presents the volume, offering reading as an opportunity for connection and reflection.

It is from this perspective that the association draws a connection between the presentation of “Voce e Luce” and the promotion of human rights awareness. On 10 December 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, affirming the dignity and equality of every person. Its first article also calls on us to act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

O“Words that listen to the soul, reflections of light, timeless emotions”: the phrase on the cover welcomes readers into the world evoked by the title. Voice, as the possibility of expressing oneself and being heard. Light, as an invitation to recognise what deserves our attention, even when it lies at the edges of our awareness.

For Studi di Cologno, promoting an author means creating a space in which their voice can reach others. Poetry can provide that space: it allows us to linger over words, recognise an emotion, and connect with an experience different from our own.

Bringing these values into cultural life means nurturing listening, respect, and participation. Sharing a reading can become a small act of attentiveness to others: a starting point for recognising the person behind every voice.

With “Voce e Luce”, Studi di Cologno invites readers to discover Giuseppe Barbaro and explore his poetry. An introduction to a new author and, at the same time, an opportunity to reflect on the human significance of words.
